In an interview with W magazine, she disclosed that the intimate scene where Kidman’s character Romy swiftly consumes a large glass of milk was based on a true event. During a night out at a bar, an unexpected glass of milk was delivered to Romy, a powerful CEO and seemingly flawless wife and mother, by her male intern Samuel (Harris Dickinson).
In a situation filled with palpable romantic tension, Romy consumes the drink offered and gazes intently into the eyes of her junior colleague. Rejin disclosed that she experienced a comparable event in her thirties when an actor significantly younger than herself slid a glass of milk across a bar towards her.
As I sipped it, he casually left, and I couldn’t help but wonder, “Where does he muster up the nerve?” I found his actions quite sensual, and amusing too, I must admit, remarked Rejin, a former actress, in reflection.
In the movie, I found myself utterly captivated as Nicole Kidman portrayed a character I’d never seen from her before – a career-driven woman with an ideal family, who takes a risk and embarks on a passionate affair with a charismatic intern beneath her. To put it simply, I can’t help but describe the storyline as: “I, as a dedicated fan, was drawn into the intrigue of a high-powered CEO, risking both career and family, in a steamy romance with her significantly younger intern.
In her conversation with W magazine, Rejin disclosed some backstage insights about the movie, explaining how they brought in a choreographer for intimate scenes between Kidman and Dickinson. “Just as you wouldn’t do a fight without a stunt coordinator, your actors might get injured and it would appear awkward on camera,” she pointed out.
Rejin pointed out that it’s much like handling sex scenes; having someone experienced who knows all the subtle techniques, ensuring everyone feels comfortable, is extremely beneficial.
