Obsidian’s latest release shares a similar level of reactive writing with Baldur’s Gate 3, allowing you to complete quests in any order without them breaking and characters referencing even minor choices and character background details. However, Avowed lags slightly behind in terms of systemic interactions, and I must admit that no game I’ve played has quite as many accommodations for edge cases as Baldur’s Gate 3.

I found the storytelling in Avowed quite enjoyable, and it offers a unique viewpoint on the world of Eora from Pillars of Eternity, which adds intrigue. There’s a possibility we might revisit this game again: Project director Carrie Patel hinted that Obsidian Entertainment may consider creating sequels or additional content in the future.
