At Obsidian Entertainment, there are exciting plans in store for the action RPG ‘Avowed’, however, its director, Carrie Patel, has decided to part ways with the studio and join Night School Studio instead. In a recent update on LinkedIn, Patel announced her departure and her new role at Night School Studio, which is renowned for creating the popular ‘Oxenfree’ series and is now under the ownership of Netflix.
Patel is set to serve as a game director at the studio, though the specific project she’ll be working on remains unclear. She spent 12 years at Obsidian Entertainment, contributing as a writer for the Pillars of Eternity series, a narrative designer on The Outer Worlds, and a director on the DLC Peril on Gorgon. Following some departures and a challenging production period, she assumed the role of director for Avowed after its previous leaders stepped down.
Regarding Avowed, Obsidian has recently introduced an update featuring Arachnophobia Safe Mode and enhancements to its responsiveness. Coming this Summer, the next patch promises to incorporate fresh abilities for NPCs, new skills, customizable map markers, and additional features. Further updates scheduled for Fall include New Game Plus, Photo Mode, a novel weapon type, and further developments.
