Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Leaks: Doctor Doom, Captain America, Thor

After the Russo brothers hinted that the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday would be released starting Thursday, several sources have begun sharing details about Marvel’s plans for promoting the film.

According to recent reports, Robert Downey Jr. may play Doctor Doom, while Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth are expected to reprise their roles as Steve Rogers and Thor, respectively.

Multiple Trailers, One Character at a Time

Just as many expected, the trailers for Avengers: Doomsday seem to highlight a different character in each one, instead of showing the whole team like typical movie previews.

The idea appears to be re-establishing core Avengers as the foundation of the film.

So far, three of the four expected trailers seem to focus on original Avengers. This leaves one trailer unaccounted for. Based on past patterns, Marvel might use this last trailer to highlight a female character. While Scarlet Witch is a possibility, Shuri seems like the more likely choice – if there even is a fourth trailer.

Daniel RPK Claims Steve Rogers Leads the Film

Daniel RPK recently pointed out that Marvel seems to be focusing on established characters rather than introducing new ones. However, this criticism overlooks the fact that Marvel’s attempt to build stories around new heroes after Endgame didn’t really take off.

According to RPK, Marvel is deliberately shifting back to what worked.

First Trailer Focused on Steve Rogers

Daniel RPK reports that the initial trailer shows Steve Rogers will be back and positioned as the main character in Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel has confirmed that the first teaser trailer will center around Steve Rogers and his return, setting him up to be the main character in the upcoming ‘Avengers Doomsday‘ film.

Steve Rogers Teaser Details

MyTimeToShine reports that the trailer appears to show Steve Rogers riding a motorcycle, and that he seemingly has a baby boy.

The preview concludes with the message “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday,” then displays “December 2026” and starts a countdown timer.

Doctor Doom Trailer

There’s a rumor going around that Marvel initially planned to release the first trailer for Doctor Doom, but they switched things up. If this is true, we can now expect to see the Doctor Doom teaser as the third trailer released.

That’s interesting – they changed the running order. The Doom trailer was originally planned to be shown first. Since that’s not happening, I don’t need to keep this information under wraps, or people might think I’m making things up. Actually, those aren’t trailers at all – they’re four short scenes, each highlighting a different character. The scene featuring Steve was meant to be the third one shown, but it looks like it’s leading things off now. It depicts Steve biking home with his baby son, and ends with a tagline: “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday,” followed by “December 2026” and a countdown timer.

Thor trailer

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is assumed to be the second trailer:

Since they changed the order, I’m ASSUMING Thor will be the second one now.

Weekly Rollout Begins With Avatar

New trailers for Avengers: Doomsday will be released weekly, starting this Thursday. Each trailer will play before showings of Avatar: Fire and Ash in theaters.
