It’s been a while since fans last saw Steve Rogers! After the events of Avengers: Endgame, he traveled back in time using the Quantum Realm to spend his life with Peggy Carter.

He lived a full life in the past, marrying Peggy Carter and growing old with her. Returning to his own time, he passed on Captain America’s shield to Sam Wilson, making Sam the new Captain America. This gave Peggy the happy life with Steve she’d always dreamed of, after believing he was lost for decades.

Steve kept the details of his time away from Sam and Bucky a secret. This new preview leaves fans wondering: did Steve anticipate his return all along? And was he secretly preparing for a future confrontation with Doctor Doom?

The preview also leaves Steve’s child a mystery. Viewers are speculating about whether the baby might have superpowers or be important to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Considering the return of so many familiar faces, it seems ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is building towards a huge event.

Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth movie in the Avengers series and the thirty-ninth installment in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.

The film features a star-studded cast including Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Florence Pugh, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Pedro Pascal, among others. It unites heroes from the Avengers, Wakanda, Fantastic Four, a new generation of Avengers, and the X-Men to battle Doctor Doom.

The movie will hit U.S. theaters on December 18, 2026, as the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A follow-up film, Avengers: Secret Wars, is already planned for release on December 17, 2027. Until then, fans are eager to find out what Marvel has in store for Captain America, his family, and the Avengers’ next chapter.
