Back in the day, I was thoroughly captivated by the epic release of Avengers: Infinity War. Even though years have passed, it remains one of the finest and most impactful comic book films ever made. For me, Infinity War was a colossal solo adventure that laid the groundwork for Endgame – the game-changer for Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He shared that, even though my beloved character didn’t make it into the final cut of the movie, a subtle homage was included in the film, and it’s there for us eagle-eyed fans to spot!

In the movie, it’s worth mentioning that Thanos ventures into the afterlife on his path to collect all the Infinity Stones. Upon arrival, he encounters Red Skull, who is now portrayed by Ross Marquand instead of Hugo Weaving in this film. Interestingly, Red Skull serves as a guide for everyone visiting this realm, which was quite different from the villainous character we met in the Captain America series.

Initially, Red Skull was not the original plan for the film. Instead, there was a suggestion to introduce an entirely different character in place of Red Skull. Frankly, having that character instead would have seemed more fitting, and we can’t help but feel disappointed it didn’t happen that way.

He revealed that the Russo Brothers deliberately used Red Skull’s cloak in ‘AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR’ as a subtle nod to Lady Death’s significant role in the Infinity Gauntlet comic series. They felt it was a shame to introduce her so late into the Infinity Saga, so they cleverly hinted at her presence through Red Skull’s cloak!
