Fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender have a lot to look forward to! Not only is a live-action adaptation coming to Netflix, but a new comic book series is also on the way. Created by the original team from the Nickelodeon show and Dark Horse Comics, Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Kyoshi Warriors will be released as a three-part monthly series, according to Variety.
Here’s a brief overview of what readers can look forward to in this new Avatar: The Last Airbender comic book.
Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors travel from their island to help fight against the Fire Nation. People on the mainland don’t immediately trust them, and they have to work hard to earn the Earth Kingdom’s respect. When a chance to prove themselves finally comes, they’ll have to decide if they’re willing to sacrifice what they believe in to succeed.
Brandon Hoáng wrote The Kyoshi Warriors, a three-issue comic series with art by BellBessa and Xanthe Bouma. Adele Matera provides the coloring, and Jimmy Betancourt handles the lettering. The first issue comes out on May 6th and is currently available for pre-order for $4.99.
