James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash is on track to earn over $500 million worldwide today, only a few days after its release. The movie started with a global opening of $347 million and then earned almost $150 million more from Monday to Wednesday, exceeding expectations from industry experts with its impressive start.
The film is performing even better than Cameron’s previous blockbuster, Avatar: The Way of Water, and is expected to earn $1 billion before its third weekend in cinemas.
I was checking the box office numbers today, and it’s amazing – the film has already made $129.6 million domestically, here in the US and Canada. But the really big news is internationally – it’s earned a whopping $353.6 million! That brings the total worldwide gross to $483.3 million. It’s doing incredibly well!
Before it came out in the U.S., experts predicted the movie would earn between $340 and $380 million worldwide during its opening weekend. It actually did even better, bringing in $347 million globally.
Avatar: Fire and Ash has now earned over $500 million worldwide at the box office. It opened with $347 million and then impressively added almost $150 million in just the first few days. It’s currently performing better than the previous Avatar film, ‘The Way of Water,’ and is projected to reach $1 billion before its third week in theaters.

Fire and Ash brought in $12 million from preview showings in North America, a bit less than the $17 million earned by The Way of Water. It went on to earn $89.2 million domestically during its opening weekend, surpassing the $77 million debut of the original Avatar from 2009, but not quite reaching the $134.1 million opening weekend of its 2022 sequel.
Even though the film’s performance within the country has been uneven, its success overseas has allowed it to reach a major milestone quickly, demonstrating that people around the world still love the Avatar series. Experts predict the movie will continue to do well and pass one billion dollars in earnings sooner than expected.
