Opendoor’s New CEO: Is It the Magic Bullet for a Floundering Business?

It all started with a bit of a shake-up in the leadership department. CEO Carrie Wheeler, after presumably spinning too many plates, stepped down, and the company wasted no time in grabbing the next bright spark in the tech world. Enter stage left: Kaz Nejatian, a name so perfect for a CEO that it could have been plucked straight from a corporate fantasy novel. Nejatian, the former COO of Shopify – that titan of e-commerce that has never met a ‘success’ it didn’t like – brings with him a delightful history of fiddling with payment technology. His last invention, Kash, was sold off in 2017, likely for a rather nice sum.

Veuve Clicquot and Simon Porte Jacquemus Threw a Fête in Central Park in Celebration of Their New Collaboration

Okay, so I went to this amazing party at the Central Park Boathouse – seriously, the setting was gorgeous with tons of green everywhere. They had these bright yellow Veuve Clicquot decorations which looked really cool against the natural backdrop, and you could even see the Manhattan skyline in the distance. It was called ‘Le Pique-Nique Sur L’eau’ – basically a fancy picnic on the water – and a ton of famous people were there, like Julia Roberts, Imaan Hammam, Solange Knowles, and Emma Roberts, plus some actors I recognized like Charlotte Le Bon and Toby Wallace. It was a pretty star-studded event!

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance reveals release date for PC, iOS, and Android

So, there’s this new MMORPG, BPSR, and it’s kinda interesting. It actually started as a different game by Bandai Namco that was supposed to come to the West with Amazon Games helping out, but that fell through. Now it’s being rebuilt and looks really promising! It’s aiming for that awesome anime art style, with a huge open world to explore, fast-paced combat, and a ton of ways to build and customize your character. I’m definitely keeping an eye on this one!

Nu Holdings: The Bank That Won’t Take No for an Answer

With 120 million customers in Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, Nu isn’t just a fintech-it’s a full-blown revolution for people who previously thought “banking” meant waiting in line while your coffee went cold. Its stock is up 46% this year, which is impressive, if you ignore the nagging question of why anyone still needs a stock to validate something this obvious.

The Scalability Trilemma

Bitcoin, that venerable old sailor of the digital realm, has sailed far since its humble days of trading 50 $BTC for a pizza. Now, it reigns supreme as the uncontested monarch of cryptocurrencies, its market cap swelling to a staggering $2.30T. Yet, like a grand old ship, it moves with deliberate slowness, processing a mere 7 to 10 transactions per second. Ah, the irony of progress! ⏳
