In the second issue of Superman, published in 1939, just a year after the character’s introduction in DC Comics, the Man of Steel intervened to prevent a war in the fictional nation of Baravia. This event plays a significant role in James Gunn’s interpretation of Superman. Despite Superman being a relatively new character during the 1930s, the film still acknowledges this early period of his history quite significantly.

David Corenswet’s character, Clark Kent, lived under the impression that his Kryptonian parents, Jor-El and Lara, sent him to Earth for a noble purpose. The cryptic message they left him suggested they aimed to do more than just preserve his life by sending him to an alien world. Instead, it seemed as though they wanted him to harness the powers he’d gain on Earth to improve his new home. This aligned with the usual portrayal of Jor-El as a noble character in the history of Superman, a trait that has remained consistent across all movie adaptations. Each Jor-El was depicted as an exceptional individual who passed on strong moral values to his son.

Just recently, WizKids unveiled the last two commanders for the game Star Trek: Captain’s Chair – To Boldly Go, along with an affirmation of a third commander from Star Trek: Captain’s Chair – Second Contact. In this new version, not only can you choose to play as Captain Kirk and Khan, but also as Jonathan Archer or Soval from Star Trek: Enterprise. This announcement follows the already revealed Philippa Georgiou from Star Trek: Discovery and Rebner from Star Trek: Lower Decks. It’s important to note that this is a self-contained game that can be played independently or combined with other games in the Star Trek: Captain’s Chair series.
