Hayao Miyazaki’s film from Studio Ghibli tells the story of Chihiro, who enters a magical bathhouse for spirits, only to find her parents turned into pigs. The bathhouse is staffed by creatures who behave very much like flawed humans. Memorable scenes, like the cleaning of a polluted river spirit and the actions of the mysterious No-Face, blend traditional folklore with disturbing transformations. The film uses sounds of industry and dark settings to highlight themes of work and excess. While often considered a family film, its imagery and exploration of greed, self-discovery, and being in-between worlds can be surprisingly unsettling.

Okay, so this remastered collection had some issues. The fog effects were missing, which meant you could see low-quality models they were originally hiding, and some of the textures and fonts just didn’t fit the game’s original look – they were way too bright and sharp. They added new voice acting, but the original audio mixes weren’t there at first, you had to wait for a patch to get those. Plus, I ran into some annoying glitches like choppy animations and visible lines between parts of the scenery, stuff that wasn’t happening in the PS2 version. Konami put this out, and they had Hijinx Studios do the work to remaster it.

Candy Crush Saga, created by King, challenges players with limited moves and tricky board designs that can trap candies. Difficult levels, like number 65 and those filled with obstacles, feature layers of meringue, licorice, and moving belts, requiring players to create specific combinations of special candies to win. Because candies fall in unpredictable patterns, players sometimes need a perfect series of matches to complete a level before running out of moves. These challenging setups are often used in events and tournaments, creating bottlenecks for players. King continuously monitors and adjusts the difficulty of these levels, meaning some remain particularly hard compared to others.

The first add-on for the game introduced Javik, the last of the Protheans, as a playable squadmate with his own unique mission on Eden Prime. It also included a new weapon, a biotic stasis ability, and extra conversations with your squad throughout the game. Installing the add-on unlocked new dialogue and lore entries in the game’s database, expanding on the history of the Prothean civilization. It was released in March 2012, but most players had to purchase it separately from the main game.

In Valve’s tactical shooter, turning on V-Sync and triple buffering can make aiming feel slow and imprecise. Instead, use the game’s frame limiter to maintain smooth performance. High shadow settings can also strain your CPU on certain maps, causing brief pauses when looking around corners – lowering shadows will make enemies easier to see. Finally, disable motion blur, as it can make fast movements look blurry and unclear. This game was created and published by Valve.

‘Dragon Ball GT’ wasn’t based on a manga and instead told its own original story. It started with Goku mysteriously becoming a child again, thanks to the Black Star Dragon Balls. The series featured new story arcs like the Baby Saga, the Super 17 Saga, and the Shadow Dragon Saga, and introduced transformations like Super Saiyan 4. The show’s creators relied on internal notes and ideas to maintain consistency and power levels, rather than a strict, published storyline. Later, interviews with the staff and details on home releases explained the creative choices and how ‘GT’ differed from ‘Dragon Ball Z’.

A father and daughter living a secluded life in a forest near Portland have their world turned upside down by a single error. Forced into the care of social services, they find it difficult to adjust to their new life and deeply miss their freedom in the wilderness. The film is a moving story about overcoming hardship and staying strong, told without being overly dramatic. Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie give compelling performances that drive the emotional heart of the story.
