This horror series is a prequel to the well-known story about the terrifying clown, exploring the origins of fear in the town of Derry, Maine. New episodes air weekly on HBO and become available to stream on Max immediately after, with the first season of eight episodes concluding in mid-December. Warner Bros. What really bothered me, though, was how much the writing leaned into current social media trends and buzzwords. It felt so inauthentic, like the characters were just spouting Twitter slogans instead of having real conversations. I couldn’t connect with anyone because everything felt performative. Sadly, it seemed like they prioritized being ‘relevant’ over actually developing the characters, and that’s why interest dropped so quickly. HBO Max ended up cancelling it after two seasons – it just didn’t have the staying power or cultural impact they were hoping for, and I was a little disappointed.

I was absolutely captivated by the visuals in this film. Director Terrence Malick really leaned into shooting during that beautiful, fleeting ‘magic hour,’ and cinematographer Néstor Almendros made the Texas wheat fields glow with a warmth that reminded me of old master paintings. The story centers around three farm workers and a heartbreaking love triangle that unfolds during the harvest. Honestly, the film shows you the story far more than it tells it – the changing seasons beautifully mirror what the characters are feeling inside. It’s a stunning, emotionally resonant experience.

This legal drama showcases a prestigious Los Angeles divorce law firm navigating challenging cases and internal conflicts. Each episode focuses on the legal strategies employed – from negotiations and evidence gathering to courtroom battles – as well as the changing relationships between the team members. Created by Ryan Murphy, alongside Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, the show premieres with several episodes at once, then releases new episodes weekly.

The show often starts with funny, standalone scenes that show off the unique personalities of the police squad. A classic example is when Jake Peralta gets a lineup of suspects to sing a Backstreet Boys song to try and identify the criminal. These scenes usually end abruptly with the show’s theme song playing right at the joke’s peak.
