In an interview with Game Informer, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that George R.R. Martin contributed to the initial world and character concepts, but FromSoftware’s writers ultimately fleshed those ideas out within the game. Miyazaki even hinted that some of the final results were so different from Martin’s original concepts that the author might be surprised to see them.
