Think of the internet as a vast, sprawling city, and advertisements as leaflets being tossed from windows. The Trade Desk is the exceptionally efficient postal service ensuring those leaflets land in the hands of people who might actually be interested. They don’t own the roads, the buildings, or even the leaflets, but they make the whole system work a lot better. They’re a technology provider, essentially, and a rather good one at that.
