In “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Matthew Macfadyen’s character, Paradox, presented an alluring proposition to Wade Wilson (Deadpool) in an attempt to lure him out of his universe. He proposed that Deadpool could become a member of the Avengers, showing him past accomplishments of Earth-616’s most powerful heroes as evidence. However, during this pitch, Paradox inadvertently revealed something Deadpool wasn’t supposed to see.
Johnny Storm, unfortunately, found himself in a precarious situation alongside Deadpool and Wolverine against Cassandra Nova’s minions in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” During their capture, the Human Torch tried to evade detection until they were all brought to Nova’s compound. However, Deadpool’s infamous loose tongue resulted in him blabbing about Johnny’s supposed betrayal of the Void despot during their drive. Though Johnny protested his innocence, Nova didn’t believe him and brutally stripped his skin off. The reason for Wade’s deceitful claims and the endangerment of Johnny remains unclear. The post-credits scene in “Deadpool & Wolverine” hinted that Deadpool may not have been entirely truthful about this event (most likely).

I have an unmatched affection for complex antiheroes with a sorrowful background. Many would concur that “X2: X-Men United” is a remarkable superhero film. However, what makes this production particularly noteworthy for me lies in a brief scene midway through the movie. In this moment, Aaron Stanford’s portrayal of Pyro, or John Allerdyce, gazes at his reflection in a family photo of Bobby, aka Iceman, surrounded by happiness. This is contrasted with scenes of Bobby and Rogue sharing tender moments and stealing their first kiss while Pyro stands alone, watching from the outside. To me, this scene from “X2” conveys a powerful message: Pyro’s pain and isolation resonate even amongst other outcasts.
