The Atiba Jefferson x OTW by Vans Authentic 44 will be released on September 18th in a black-and-white colorway. It’s available for purchase at Vans, and the style code is VN000EEUGC7. The price is yet to be announced.
Following Atiba Jefferson’s appointment as Vans’ Brand Curator last year, OTW by Vans is excited to announce their newest project with him. Jefferson is a highly influential photographer and storyteller known for capturing the culture of skateboarding.
Okay, so Vans and I teamed up on a new shoe, and it’s seriously cool. We took the classic Authentic 44 and covered it in photos taken by Atiba Jefferson – black and white shots of legendary skater John Cardiel and musician Franz Lyons. The pictures aren’t just *on* the shoe, they wrap all the way around from the top to the bottom, even inside! It’s like wearing a piece of skate and music history, telling the stories of these two awesome guys. The only other branding is a small ‘ATIBA’ logo on the insole, right above the Vans OTW logo – super subtle, I love it.
This model perfectly embodies Jefferson’s personality and style, both as a skateboarder and as an artist, showcasing his creative perspective.
