The major story expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is out now, picking up where the main game left off. Players continue to follow Naoe as she searches for her mother, the Assassin Tsuyu. This DLC adds around 10 hours of new story content and introduces a brand-new open-world area: Awaji Island.
Let’s cover what you need to do to begin the downloadable content, and how to reach the new map.
How to start the Claws of Awaji DLC – AC Shadows
To begin the downloadable content, you must first finish the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, as this new content continues right after the original ending. After completing the main story, return to your hideout. You’ll find a new mission called “News from Hattori Hanzo” marked on your map. Travel to the location and speak with the character there; they’ll tell you about a puppet show taking place at a nearby shrine.
Watch the puppet show to learn the story and background information for the island of Awaji. After it ends, Junjiro will ask where you want to go. Choose “go to Awaji” to travel there right away. If you pick the other choice, you can always return to Junjiro later to get there.
