ASICS unveils a new trio of color schemes for their contemporary sports-style shoe, the US6-S GEL Kinetic Fluent, designed by Kiko Kostadinov Studio. The launch is scheduled for late July. The design draws from ASICS’s heritage, combining vintage style with modern upgrades and a forward-looking appearance.
The design references the idea of “Insulated Grottos,” achieved with multi-layered mesh, curved leather panels, welded eyelets, and fluid linework reminiscent of artist Edith Dekynd’s work. A distinctive feature of Kiko x ASICS designs – the offset pull tab – reappears on the tongue in this version.
The upper part of this shoe replaces the typical mesh toe with a complete leather construction that stretches towards the heel, while the eyelets are enclosed within its seamless, sculpted form. ASICS logo is minimally displayed as TPU quarter panels, positioned above a breathable two-tone mesh foundation and adorned with gradient shading for a subtle depth effect.
Underneath, this duo boasts Scutoid GEL technology for excellent cushioning and support, while FF blast plus eco foam provides an energetic, agile ride due to its energy return capabilities. The TRUSSTIC support system strengthens stability, ensuring a performance-driven, kinetic feel. Moreover, 20% of the synthetic leather on the upper is derived from recycled materials, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability in design.
