Ashton Kutcher shared a story about a setback he experienced early in his career. When he was 19, he was let go from a modeling job with Gucci.

Ashton recently shared a story on Entertainment Tonight about his modeling career. He recalled that getting the Gucci job early on felt like a major break for him.

He traveled to Italy hoping the project would be a turning point in his life and give his career a boost. However, once he got there, things didn’t go as planned.

The atmosphere changed after Ashton tried on the outfit for the photoshoot—a pink Speedo, as he recalled. Gucci’s creative director, Tom Ford, then decided Ashton wasn’t suitable for the job.

He was fired from the campaign because someone told him he was overweight. Ashton said he weighed around 178 pounds at the time and was shocked by the comment.

He insisted he wasn’t offended by the decision. He clarified that Ford had a clear vision for the project and it was just a matter of artistic direction.

Ashton shared that they both found the situation funny later on. The problem didn’t hold him back for very long.
