As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of the Arrowverse, I’ve spent countless hours debating the merits and flaws of each character in this expansive universe. The rivalry between Grant Gustin’s Flash and Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman has always been a topic of great interest for me.
Prior to the DCEU and DCU, there existed the Arrowverse – an expansive on-screen universe that brought both well-known and lesser-known characters from DC Comics to life.
Despite occasionally receiving criticism for its over-the-top style and questions about the caliber of its series, the Arrowverse continues to hold a substantial place in DC’s legacy. It also provided some of the most outstanding performances of Flash (Grant Gustin) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) ever seen on television.
These characters haven’t had many opportunities to display their abilities or speed on screen because they primarily interact less frequently than other characters. However, in comic book lore, The Flash is typically quicker than Superman, taking the majority of their races.
But what about the Arrowverse? To find out, we turned to some unexpected sources.
During the Fan Expo Dallas gathering, the casts of The Flash and Superman & Lois engaged in a panel discussion. Here, Candice Patton (Iris West-Allen) and Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane) squared off on an intriguing topic: who is quicker between Grant Gustin’s Flash and Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman. You can catch the entire debate in the video linked below.

It appears that the actresses failed to agree despite Patton having the accurate response. However, Tulloch changed the subject by restating the question in terms of which superhero holds more power, resulting in Superman emerging victorious.
Since The Flash concluded its narrative last year and Superman & Lois is nearing its end this season, it seems quite improbable that there will be a speed competition between these iconic characters on screen.
