‘Arrow’ Now Teases ‘Back With a Vengeance’: How About Grant Gustin as The SnyderVerse Flash?

The official Facebook page for Arrow – probably managed by Warner Bros. – shared a picture of Stephen Amell as Green Arrow with the caption, “Back with a vengeance.”

The post quickly sparked rumors, especially since there’s been a recent increase in activity related to Zack Snyder’s DC films – including Snyder returning to Instagram to share images and cinematographer Larry Fong becoming active on social media again.

The Flash’s Facebook page shared a message reminding fans to focus on the present and enjoy today, rather than worrying about the future.

Arrow and the SnyderVerse Already Connected Once

Fans recall that the worlds of Zack Snyder’s DC films (the SnyderVerse) and The CW’s Arrowverse connected during the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, featuring an appearance by The Flash, played by Ezra Miller.

We were the first to share this news (according to the same sources within the SnyderVerse), and it quickly became a major talking point for DC fans over the last ten years.

This connection gives Snyder the chance to combine these universes again. Considering recent reports that Ezra Miller likely won’t reprise their role, the new ‘Arrow’ teaser suggests an interesting potential path forward.

Could Snyder Bring Grant Gustin Into the SnyderVerse?

We suggested on X that if Ezra Miller is no longer involved, Zack Snyder might cast Grant Gustin as The Flash in his DC Universe.

As a fan, it’s clear Gustin has what it takes – the support from us, a solid history with the Flash, and he’s already part of the universe Zack Snyder built with that appearance in Crisis! It just makes so much sense.

Now that Snyder is involved again, the possibility seems much more realistic. Plus, with Arrow hinting at a comeback – officially, through a Warner Bros. channel – it suggests something even more significant could be happening.

Stephen Amell Has Repeatedly Said He’d Return

Although Stephen Amell didn’t share the preview himself, he’s repeatedly stated he’d be willing to reprise his role as Green Arrow if the chance arose. He recently added that he’d return if it pleased the fans.

Now that Zack Snyder’s plans are moving forward again, it’s easy to picture him bringing back actors we’ve seen in his previous films, either for quick appearances or more substantial roles.

A film directed by Zack Snyder with Grant Gustin as The Flash, and even a brief appearance by Stephen Amell, would generate massive excitement online. This would also align with Snyder’s history of acknowledging and appreciating his dedicated fanbase.

Amell and Gunn’s History Adds Another Layer

There has also been tension between James Gunn and Stephen Amell.

Similar to how James Gunn criticized the Snyderverse, his new DC Universe also seemed to dismiss the Arrowverse, prompting Stephen Amell to voice his disagreement.

“F-ck those guys,” responded Amell last year. “I didn’t f-cking appreciate that.”

Talk about potentially bringing Zack Snyder’s vision back to life is happening again, and a recent post from the show Arrow – saying it’s “Back with a vengeance” – seems connected to those discussions.

Another Piece of the Puzzle?

With hints from Zack Snyder’s social media, the return of cinematographer Larry Fong, industry rumors, talk of a new direction for the franchise, and even the official Arrow account becoming active again, evidence is mounting that something is happening.

Arrow recently shared a cryptic post that has fans wondering what’s next. Are they planning a release on Blu-ray or DVD? Could the show be coming back to streaming services? Or might this have something to do with Zack Snyder? It’s unclear, but the timing of the post is definitely interesting.
