Arnold Schwarzenegger is considering returning to some of his most famous films. He’s currently discussing the possibility of appearing in a new Predator movie, and is also exploring sequels to both Commando and Conan the Barbarian.
At the Arnold Sports Festival in Ohio, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that 20th Century Studios is planning another Predator movie with director Dan Trachtenberg. According to TheArnoldFans, Schwarzenegger said they’ve discussed him appearing in the new film after Trachtenberg did a great job on a previous installment.
Schwarzenegger announced that sequels are in the works for both Commando and Conan. He shared that Christopher McQuarrie, the director behind the Mission Impossible films, will be writing and directing the new Conan movie. Schwarzenegger jokingly added that while he’s getting older, he still plans to be action-packed in the role, saying, “I’ll still go in there and kick some ass.”
He shared a preview of the plot for the upcoming King Conan story. He described it as a tale of Conan, now 40 years into his reign as king, being overthrown and forced into conflict. The story will feature familiar elements of adventure, including violence, magic, and fantastical creatures, all inspired by the original books by Robert E. Howard.
Everyone remembers me for The Terminator, but honestly, I think I’ve closed that chapter. What I’m really excited about now is revisiting some of the films that really defined my career back in the ’80s – things like Predator, Commando, and especially Conan. Those are the worlds I’m eager to jump back into.
