Armie Hammer Forced To Sell Truck After Not Being Able To Afford Gas

As a dedicated follower of the rollercoaster ride that is Armie Hammer‘s life, I find myself both saddened and intrigued by his recent Instagram posts. It’s heart-wrenching to see a talented actor like him struggling with basic necessities like affording gas, despite being the grandson of an oil tycoon.

Actor Armie Hammer, who’s been dealing with controversies and accusations lately, is now back in Los Angeles, aiming for a fresh start. Taking to Instagram, he shared his reasons behind this move.

As a grandson of oil magnate Armand Hammer, one might expect me to be financially secure, but surprisingly, I’m finding it challenging to cover my gas expenses. Speaking about my truck, I’ve had to admit, “Since returning to L.A., I’ve been spending around four to five dollars on gas each time, which I can no longer afford.”

He also shared that he recently got a new car that will likely cost him just 10 USD in gas monthly. He went on to talk about the sentimental value of his truck, reminiscing how it brought his two kids home from the hospital and served as his companion on cross-country road trips. He had bought it as a gift for himself in 2017. 

Ever since I, a die-hard enthusiast, parted ways with my beloved truck, I’ve been on a journey – a journey to find it a new home at CarMax. With every mile driven, I felt the pain of letting go, but held onto hope that one day, the process would become simpler and less costly.

This year on August 28th, Hammer celebrates his 39th birthday, as he stated in an Instagram video. In that video, he expressed excitement about beginning his birthday with a fresh car, a new home, and a whole new chapter in his life.

The actor was last seen in the 2022 Mystery Thriller, Death on the Nile, alongside Gal Gadot. In 2021, he faced rape, abuse and cannibalism accusations. However, he denied them and stated that his relationships were consensual. No charges were pressed against him even after the investigation. He then split from his former wife, Elizabeth Chambers. 

2022 saw the debut of a psychological thriller documentary titled “House of Hammer” on Discovery+, focusing on the life of Armie Hammer and his family. Directed by Elli Hakani and Julian P. Hobbs, this mini-series sparked much debate online as some viewers felt the actor was unfairly accused, while others found the allegations plausible in light of the manipulative and corrupt history of the Hammer family.

In June 2024, Hammer discussed the scandal on Tyler Ramsey’s “Painful Lessons” podcast. He shared that he was currently in a more favorable position compared to his previous state, and spoke about relying on his occupation as a source of validation and affection.
