Armie Hammer Debunks Rumors About Robert Downey Jr. Paying For His Rehab But Says Actor Gave Him Advise

As a dedicated follower of Hollywood news, I have closely watched Armie Hammer’s journey through his personal struggles and his recent clarification regarding rumors about Robert Downey Jr.’s involvement in his rehab.

Hollywood actor Armie Hammer previously sought help at a rehabilitation center due to struggles with drugs, alcohol, and personal issues. Previous reports suggested Robert Downey Jr., a close friend of Hammer’s, had footed the bill for his stay. However, Hammer himself has now clarified that Downey did not financially support his treatment.

Based on Vanity Fair’s articles, Armie Hammer spent six months at a Florida treatment center in 2021 due to personal issues. Despite Robert Downey Jr.’s past struggles with addiction leading some to assume he may have helped Armie financially, it was later discovered that this was not the case.

Armie Hammer debunks the rumors

More recently, Armie Hammer spoke on Pierce Morgan Uncensored about the accusations surrounding his addiction and mentioned those who stood by him and those who did not. During the conversation, it was brought up if Robert Downey Jr., the Iron Man actor, had covered the costs for Hammer’s rehab. Hammer made it clear, “No, he didn’t pay for me to go to rehab.” He also added, “I prefer not to involve anyone else in my situation. There are several individuals who have been incredibly supportive, and I am deeply grateful.”

In my experience as someone who has struggled with addiction issues, Robert Downey Jr. came into my life at just the right moment. He didn’t charge me any fees for his guidance, but the advice he gave was invaluable. During a particularly difficult time, Downey Jr. helped me stay calm and reassured me that things would eventually be okay. I believe that for anyone in Hollywood or beyond who is trying to overcome addiction, there comes a time when they will encounter someone who will provide them with the support and encouragement needed to begin their journey towards sobriety. That person, in my case Robert Downey Jr., can make all the difference.

Did Leonardo DiCaprio reach out to Hammer?

During the same interview, Morgan inquired if Leonardo DiCaprio or Julia Roberts (previous colleagues) attempted to get in touch with Armie. In response, Armie stated emphatically that he prefers not to ponder over individuals who have never reached out to him. Instead, he chooses to concentrate on the numerous others who have extended their encouragement and support.

Some people who checked on Hammer during his difficult time included his Lone Ranger costar Johnny Depp and director Luca Guadagnino. Hammer had previously collaborated with Luca on the film “Call Me By Your Name.” The director publicly expressed his support for the actor, which Hammer greatly valued. Nevertheless, Hammer holds no ill will towards those who didn’t reach out to him.

He acknowledged that the situation was delicate and speaking out in its favor could draw criticism. He recognized that his own stance had been explosive, and approaching it too closely carried the risk of igniting controversy as well.
