Arknights: Endfield developers ask for trust as fans get impatient

At Gamescom 2025, Arknights: Endfield made a grand entrance with an impressive booth showcasing a large-scale replica of its automated production facilities. This creative marketing strategy resonated well with the German audience, who are known for appreciating automation in games. I’ll skip discussing the specifics of the game build presented at the convention, as it was the same version featured during the closed beta test earlier this year, and my impressions from that experience have already been shared.

During my recent playtime with the game, I managed to chat with Jim Yao from Hypergryph. We discussed the anticipation among fans for a release date announcement, as there has been limited news since the beta ended. It seems that the gaming community’s patience is wearing thin and feelings of frustration are rising due to this lack of information.

Rest assured, you can rely on us as we’ve been working hard. It seems we may be nearing the exciting news you’ve all been anticipating. However, it might just be my eagerness talking since I’m tired of the circus-like atmosphere that has taken over, given the Hollow Knight community no longer needs the clown make-up.

In addition, we discussed how Endfield’s story was a gradual build-up, but not everyone in the beta found it engaging. Interestingly, within Hypergryph, the writing team is often referred to as “freaks” because of their extensive knowledge about the expansive setting, which I found quite amusing.

In summary, it appears that Hypergryph is quite pleased with Endfield’s development process. We shared some enthusiasm over the exceptional artwork that the company’s artists have produced, particularly with regards to character design, animations, and the overall world. It seems that, as usual, the key lies in the details, and Hypergryph is aiming for a flawless launch version of the game, which might be the reason for the delay.

It makes sense that they’re being careful, considering how tough the market for gacha games has gotten lately. However, I believe Endfield stands out due to its distinct blend of gameplay and genre aspects, which is a niche not many other games are exploring. As a fan, I can’t help but be excited about the developers striving to create a superior product for me to enjoy.

I regret to inform you that there aren’t any major updates about Endfield from the recent event. However, you might recall that after Gamescom, we have the Tokyo Game Show approaching, and Hypergryph will be there too – a time when gacha games are particularly packed with announcements. Therefore, to make an impact this year, it’s likely that any studio will need to unveil some intriguing news.
