As a longtime fan of Ariana Grande, it’s always fascinating to delve deeper into her personal and professional life. Her recent interview on Hot Ones was no exception. It was both amusing and relatable when she mentioned her family seemingly forgetting about her vegan lifestyle. I can totally relate as a fellow vegan – having to constantly remind people that my plate should be plant-based!
It appears Ariana Grande’s family may not be focusing on her vegetarian lifestyle, as she recently disclosed this in an interview. Moreover, the popular singer shared that other members of her family also follow a vegan diet.
On Thursday, August 8, the singer made an appearance on Hot Ones. During this episode, she was posed a question by the host, Sean Evans (who shared vegan wings with her), about whether she found a harmonious blend between her Silicon Valley-American family’s culinary traditions and her vegan lifestyle.
Grande joked that her family often seems to overlook the fact she’s vegan. She then amended her statement, saying, “I don’t believe they forget; I suspect they choose not to recall.”
She realized that her grandmother is among her relatives who finds it challenging to remember that the singer is a vegetarian. The vocalist of Love Me Harder admitted that her grandmother frequently offers her meatballs, which she politely declines, thanks her, and reminds her that she follows a vegan lifestyle.
In addition to Ariana, Frankie Grande’s spouse, Hale Leon, is also a vegan. During the interview, Ariana mentioned that she and her brother-in-law share a common bond as they both follow a plant-based diet during family gatherings. Evans commented, “It can be challenging coordinating those Sunday night dinners with two vegans in the family.”
In the episode, she discussed her past reluctance towards her early musical works. The host inquired whether it would be inconvenient for her to step away from the popular songs that her fans adore so much.
She answered that it is a “natural thing” that all musicians can probably relate to. She added that watching fan’s reactions in a way replaces that. She reflected on the time when it was hard for her to feel thankful the way she does now for certain songs and for the music, as she thinks some of it was a stressful time.
Grande went on to say that over “time and counseling,” she has been able to reconnect with her old songs once more. She shared that listening to them makes her feel proud, grateful, and content. The pop star playfully commented, “Previously, I might have heard it and cried, but now, that’s a wonderful change.”
In terms of her professional pursuits, Ariana Grande dropped her Eternal Sunshine album in March, and it didn’t take much time before the songs within it gained significant popularity on social media, particularly those titled “Yes, I Am Possible,” “The Boy Is Mine (a collaboration with another artist),” and “We Can’t Be Friends.” Additionally, Grande is set to appear in the movie adaptation of Wicked, scheduled for release on November 27, 2024.
