As a devoted fan of both Ariana Grande and Harry Potter, I must say that this recent display of Ari’s talent left me utterly spellbound! Her impersonation of Hermione Granger was not just spot-on, but it brought a smile to my face that even Voldemort couldn’t wipe away.
On Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast recently, Ariana Grande demonstrated her knack for imitations. During the show, she charmed listeners with her rendition of a well-known Hermione Granger quote from the Harry Potter books. Her impression was one of the standout moments of the episode broadcasted on November 6th, causing the hosts to laugh out loud.
In response to Bowen Yang’s question about replicating a notable scene from Emma Watson’s character Hermione, Ariana Grande was quick and ready. “Could you perform your Hermione impersonation? Are you familiar with the specific one I mean?” was essentially what Yang asked.
With no pause, Grande quickly said, “Ron’s in a real pickle now!” This is reminiscent of the worried tone from the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
The line refers to a scene where Ron Weasley, played by Rupert Grint, is injured during a teleportation mishap known as splinching. Grande shared her love for Emma Watson’s performance, saying, “I love the vocal fray so much.”
Ariana Grande has proven herself skilled at mimicking famous personalities. During her hosting stint on Saturday Night Live on October 12, she demonstrated this talent by emulating stars like Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and Jennifer Coolidge. In a sketch titled “Charades with Mom,” Grande portrayed a contentious mother alongside her son’s new boyfriend, played by Yang.
Later on, Yang apologized for an excessive display of affection in their skit, where he kissed Grande. He confessed during a podcast that he “opened his mouth too wide” when they kissed. In response, Grande joked, “Indeed you did. I was left trembling, not because it was unpleasant, but rather unexpectedly disarmed.
While working together on the production of “Wicked: Part One,” Grande and Yang have formed a strong bond. In this production, Grande takes on the role of Glinda the Good Witch, while Yang brings Pfannee to life. Yang was impressed with Grande’s performance, expressing her praise for it. Matt Rogers also expressed admiration for Grande’s acting skills, stating that it’s truly awe-inspiring to witness someone excel at something they were destined to do.
In the interview, Rogers expressed gratitude towards Grande for her support towards Yang, likening her to “an exceptional sister figure to my own sister.” Additionally, the podcast provided listeners with a glimpse into the strong bond shared amongst the cast of Wicked.
Under the guidance of director Jon M. Chu, the highly anticipated film “Wicked: Part One” is slated for release on November 22nd. In this movie, Ariana Grande takes on the role of Glinda, while Cynthia Erivo portrays Elphaba. Jonathan Bailey plays Fiyero, and Jeff Goldblum steps into the role of the Wizard.
Fans eagerly await the two-part continuation of the hit Broadway musical, with Wicked: Part Two set to debut on November 26, 2025.
