Tickets for the sensational “Fantastic Four” are now available, but be warned! With such tremendous interest, ticket websites have been experiencing technical difficulties due to the overwhelming demand.
In actuality, upon examining ticket websites and sales, they appear to be functioning smoothly. It seems that a relatively small number of Fantastic Four tickets have been purchased so far.
It’s noteworthy that this assertion originates from the same source who previously posted on Twitter about trans actress Hunter Schafer potentially playing Princess Zelda in Nintendo’s forthcoming live-action Zelda film, a claim that appears to be unfounded as well.
Additionally, a comment within the tweet assures us that ticket selling platforms are functioning properly, without any issues.
Update: Other sources are stating that the AMC app may have crashed due to excessive demand. Yet, if the app did indeed crash, this does not appear to be because of high demand since, upon reviewing ticket sales, it appears that relatively few tickets have been purchased.
I’ve recently verified, but unfortunately, none of the theaters in NYC have more than 10% of their tickets sold for the Marvel movie.

Last week, I bought tickets for the opening day matinee at my Regal RPX cinema, and the transaction went flawlessly. In fact, I was the second customer to secure tickets for the Thursday 2 pm show. Across social media platforms like X, there’s a growing consensus that tickets for Fantastic Four are not flying off the shelves as quickly as expected.

In my observation, it seems that the X account might be yearning for wider visibility on X platform. This is because platforms like X and other social media sites often compensate users financially, irrespective of the content they post.
In my Twitter post, it’s plausible that the account might be a Marvel promotional account, aiming to generate artificial Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) to encourage fans to buy tickets swiftly for fear of missing out. However, it appears more like a desperate attempt and not very effective so far.

Will Fantastic Four flop?
As of now, it’s uncertain whether the movie “Fantastic Four” will underperform or not. We’ll find out once we hear about the initial 24-hour box office figures from trade reports. At this point, long-term predictions for its box office performance are still pending.
It’s been revealed that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are planning to miss out on Comic-Con this year, which coincides with the release date of the Fantastic Four movie. This move might not be the most reassuring indication of their faith in the project.
Feige shifted the releases of “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars” to a later date, not only pushing back the launch of “Fantastic Four,” but also delaying the major overhauls for both “Thunderbolts” and “Captain America: Brave New World.
Despite the name change to “New Avengers,” the Thunderbolts film’s performance has been disappointing, currently ranking as the second-lowest grossing MCU movie at the box office, surpassed only by The Marvels. This means it’s performing worse than Eternals, and with its current trajectory, it seems likely that the film will earn less than $400 million globally and lose around $100 million.
Similarly to “Captain America: Brave New World,” Disney referred to this movie as a significant loss in their most recent financial report, alongside “Snow White.” Ouch. (This version maintains the original’s structure and tone while using more casual language for a natural and easy-to-read feel.)
Additionally, it’s disappointing that it seems like Fantastic Four might follow in the footsteps of another “MCU flop” movie. One would hope that Feige, having learned from the mistakes of The Marvels, and the MCU on Disney+, would steer clear of similar errors. However, it’s speculated that Disney/Marvel might have received DEI funds (once more) for Fantastic Four. The story is said to focus on Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm leading the team and the world, with a female Silver Surfer as well.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters on July 25.
