Brad Winderbaum, head at Marvel Television, hinted at the possibility of additional seasons for shows like Agatha All Along and Hawkeye. While nothing is set in stone yet, it seems that both series could continue their stories down the line.
Winderbaum described Agatha Harkness’ series as a “show built around ideas,” hinting at potential expansion in the future. He mentioned that although season two could be on the horizon, Marvel is being careful, focusing on crafting a strong narrative before moving forward.
Winderbaum told Entertainment Weekly, “I believe it’s ‘linear series potential.’ To me, a show like Agatha falls under the category of concept-driven programs. We certainly would consider a second season, but let’s take our time to get it right instead of rushing. Once we have the perfect idea, then we can move forward,” also mentioning, “The chemistry among the cast and Jac in her role as showrunner was truly remarkable. I apologize if that sounds corny, but it genuinely was.
In a shift of focus, Agatha All Along, a spin-off from WandaVision, centered around Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn). This change led to a major revelation involving Billy Maximoff/Wiccan (Joe Locke). Despite being initially conceived as a standalone, limited series, the finale left audiences with potential future plotlines. The fate of Billy and Tommy Maximoff remains uncertain, with whispers suggesting their tale could continue in the upcoming Vision series.
Simultaneously, Winderbaum hinted that Hawkeye, the 2021 series, has potential for a follow-up. Starring Florence Pugh, Jeremy Renner, and Hailee Steinfeld, it introduced Kate Bishop as Clint Barton’s apprentice. Whispers suggest that a second season may explore Clint’s struggle against his sinister brother, Trickshot.
Winderbaum noted that the seasonal backdrop of Hawkeye makes it easier for viewers to revisit, hinting at Marvel’s plans to produce more series that span multiple seasons in the time to come.
He mentioned that the series “Hawkeye” seems suitable for a follow-up season due to its holiday theme and characters Clint and Kate. We are exploring chances to revisit this show again.
Winderbaum commented, “As we create items for the future, I believe they will follow a seasonal pattern, offer more repetitive designs, and be ready for yearly release.
Both Agatha All Along and Hawkeye are available for streaming on Disney+.
