Apple Cider Vinegar: What Happened to Belle Gibson’s Parents and Brother After She Confessed to Lying About Cancer?

A decade ago, Belle Gibson’s deception dominated the internet, and to reintroduce the genuine story to viewers, Netflix is planning to release a film titled Apple Cider Vinegar. After Belle admitted the truth, her parents, Natalie and Andrew Dal-Bell, along with her brother Nick Gibson, were deeply impacted by her actions.

Gibson posed as an online influencer and promoted a supposed cure for brain tumors. It was later discovered that she had fabricated having cancer, and admitted that the natural remedies she shared were responsible for her “cure.” However, two investigative reporters scrutinized Belle’s story as an influencer and exposed the fact that she never truly suffered from cancer.

In the web of deceit her daughter had spun, Natalie broke her silence in 2015, expressing that she was deeply wounded and extremely frustrated by Belle’s tactics. She disclosed that Belle did not care for her, her brother was not autistic, and Belle had barely ever done a minute’s worth of household chores throughout her life.

In my unbridled passion, I’d have to confess: I’ve sacrificed sleep, health, and possibly even a few years off my life, all in the name of ensuring Belle had the world at her fingertips. Yet, when she refused to acknowledge her mistakes, I was left utterly astonished.

In addition to Gibson, even their brother was appalled by their sister’s behavior. Nick, a father of two, expressed his discomfort regarding his sister’s actions in an interview with the Daily Mail in 2024. He stated that he does not wish for his children to be involved with her due to what she has done.

Nick expressed that he was deeply troubled by Belle’s actions towards those families. He further stated that none of them deserved the hardship she caused, as they were already dealing with genuine struggles. Unfortunately, Belle seemed to be feigning cancer, claiming to heal herself and even pretending to be a doctor, among other questionable behavior.

Currently, Gibson’s mom has passed away, and he seldom communicates with his sister. At the same time, he’s busy looking after his own family.

Apple Cider Vinegar will be available to stream on Netflix.
