Dever remarked that the description of Milla and Belle as “mirrors of each other” is quite accurate, as their stories run parallel throughout the series, interchanging perspectives.

According to Dever, Gibson aspires not just to resemble Milla, but to emulate her. Milla carries an authentic aura of purpose and authority, whereas Belle seeks validation. This dynamic between them gives their rivalry a deeply personal and intense quality.

In simpler terms, Dever stated, “It seems the connection between the two of them is that Belle deeply desires to spend time with and learn from Milla initially. She idolizes Milla greatly. However, it becomes intriguing to watch as this relationship begins to strain Belle.

In my opinion, Milla embodies the physical form that Belle was yearning for, and she possessed all the qualities that Belle desired. To me, this seems incredibly tragic and disheartening. This is what Dever expressed.
