Apex Legends Season 25’s mid-season patch brings audio fixes and legend buffs

The update details for Apex Legends: Prodigy’s mid-season are now available. In addition to a limited-time mode (LTM) featuring one-on-one duels, there are substantial updates for characters and a shift in audio prioritization that emphasizes enemy sounds over teammates’.

Here are the major takeaways from the patch notes: 

Apex Legends mid-season 25 patch notes and meta changes

Wattson

Passive: 

  • 50% faster ult accel use
  • Passive shield gen increased to 2/s from 1/s

Tactical: 

  • Increase fence node HP to 50 (was 25)
  • Cooldown reduced to 4s (was 15s)
  • Fences now slow sliding and jumping enemies, and consume cooldowns on Ash dashes and Sparrow double jumps
  • Fences electrify doors, which stun enemies when opened or kicked
  • Doors no longer explode when opened into a fence

Upgrades: 

  • Falling Stars integrated into base kit
  • New – Help is Here: gain all Support perks
  • New – Ultimate Conductor: damage to enemies converts to Ult charge and knocks give a 305 burst charge
  • New – Energized Healer: gain double small med healing
  • Power Pylon: double Ult HP, healing rate, and capacity

Vantage

Changes: 

  • Vantage’s hitbox shrank to fit her model better

Passive: 

  • Can now ping three enemies at once
  • Can see health bar of targeted enemy
  • Pinging an enemy reveals their position when further than 50m away (was 100m)

Tactical: 

  • Echo auto recalls after you jump
  • Faster jump activation
  • Echo can fly a further 10m
  • Double jump integrated into base kit
  • Redploying guns after jump now quicker
  • Widened FOV Echo needs to be in to jump

Ultimate: 

  • Ultimate Reload upgrade in base kit
  • Laser now hidden until Vantage shoots and lasts for 15s
  • Laser now more representative of aim

Upgrades: 

  • New – Controlling my Prey: access ring consoles and zone overcharge
  • New – Improved Mark: marked enemy icon is visible through walls
  • New – Tac Cooldown: reduce tac cooldown by 5s
  • New – Sniper Cover: adds gun shield to Sniper’s Mark

Ash

Changes:

  • Decreased dash cooldown to 8s (was 10s)
  • Slightly decreased tether strength when pulling hard
  • Daul Breach moved to level 2 upgrades
  • Ghost in the Machine removed
  • Greedy Snares and Twin Snares move to level 3
  • New – Charged Knock: HP regain on knock

Audio

  • De-prioritised friendly ziplines so enemy zips always play
  • De-prioritised non-threatening enemy footsteps
  • Experimenting with lowered volume/muted allied footsteps when enemies are close
  • Reduced volume of hovertanks in King’s Canyon
