Amidst this major milestone in Edward’s global rise, he expressed its significance in a conversation with TopMob, “It’s something I’ll never forget.”

During the last week of August, the renowned sports figure traversed Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing. He engaged in a sequence of events such as meet-ups with fans, youth-oriented activities, and cultural experiences, concluding with a trip to the Great Wall. In addition, Edwards partnered with collaborator Edison Chen from CLOT for the launch of CLOT x Anthony Edwards 1, and introduced his latest fan engagement platform, “Ant Farm,” to Chinese spectators through captivating basketball programming. In Shanghai, he amazed thousands of fans by unveiling the long-awaited adidas AE 2, successor to his initial adidas 1 design silhouette.

From the coming NBA season to the sequel of his signature adidas sneaker, Edwards sets his gaze on the future with an all-in attitude and optimistic energy. “I want everything we do to be legendary,” he said regarding his growing adidas line. And as for his 2025-26 NBA season, he says the team will do everything they can to bring the championship to Minnesota — “Believe that,” he concluded.

How are you enjoying your China tour?

Truly, it’s been an extraordinary experience! The atmosphere here is electrifying. No matter where we visit, fans shower us with such warmth. I’ve longed to be a part of this scene, and now that I’m here, I get to immerse myself in Chinese basketball culture and witness their deep-rooted passion for the game. It’s an experience I’ll cherish forever.

The adidas Anthony Edwards 1 was an undeniable hit. What made the shoe special to you?

My very first pair of Anthony Edwards’ signature shoes hold a unique significance for me, as they were my introduction to this line. Collaborating on them with adidas Basketball was truly extraordinary, and the response to it was overwhelming. The sight of it everywhere, coupled with everyone discussing it, is an experience I’ll always cherish.

Has there been growing excitement about the upcoming adidas Anthony Edwards 2 shoes? Does this increased anticipation put any added pressure on you to elevate your performance even more?

Motivation drives me. Anthony Edwards (1) set the stage initially, but it’s all about constantly improving, whether others expected it or not. Our aim has always been to outdo ourselves each year, and we have consistently achieved that goal.

As a devoted gamer, I can’t help but wonder what enhancements Adidas has in store for me with the upcoming Adidas Anthony Edwards 2. What tweaks or improvements can I expect from this next-gen shoe that will take my gaming experience to another level?

In an effort to maintain a balance between aesthetics and functionality, my aim with the design was to ensure the shoes performed well on the court while also having an attractive appearance.

Dude, those second models are outstanding! They’re remarkably lightweight and incredibly powerful, and we’ve also got some stunning new color options lined up.

When creating the concept for the adidas Anthony Edwards 2, what did you start with?

In simpler terms, our focus was initially on ensuring exceptional performance. The court feel of the shoe should match my natural movements. I want a shoe that moves with me effortlessly. The Adidas Basketball team designed it based on this foundation, ensuring top-tier performance while also maintaining a striking appearance. It’s not just another evolution in the line; it feels like the future.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but get excited about stepping into the spotlight with the second release, where I’ve joined forces with Edison Chen’s CLOT for a stunning twist on the original design. What sets this collaboration apart, beyond being my first foray into fashion partnerships, you ask? Well, it’s the fiery, unique energy that we’ve infused into these sneakers that really makes them stand out!

It’s clear that the first phase concluded with a spectacular finale – a moment that left me utterly amazed once I laid eyes on Edison’s invention. And let me tell you, the specifics truly do their own talking; it was nothing short of extraordinary! Absolutely mind-blowing.

Your collaboration with Adidas has showcased unique marketing strategies. To what extent does your personal style and creativity contribute to those campaign ideas?

1. Instead of “I want everything we do to be legendary,” you could say, “I aspire for our actions to become iconic.”
2. For “I can’t thank them enough for allowing me to be who I am,” you could consider, “I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity they’ve given me to express myself truly.”
3. Instead of “From launching the 1 in Atlanta, to letting Nick be a part of the campaign, everything you see is all me,” you might rephrase as, “Every aspect of this project, from launching it in Atlanta to including Nick in the campaign, is my work.”
4. The sentence “Believe that,” could simply become, “Trust me on this.”

So, a possible revised version would be: “I aspire for our actions to become iconic. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity they’ve given me to express myself truly. Every aspect of this project, from launching it in Atlanta to including Nick in the campaign, is my work. Trust me on this.”

Outside of your own sneaker line, what’s your favorite adidas sneaker to wear casually?

In my leisure time away from the court, I greatly enjoy staying comfortable. Casually speaking, you’ll often find me wearing Adifom IIInfinity slides. As for sneakers, I have a soft spot for adidas Superstars. They’re truly classic pieces that never go out of style.

What are you most excited about for the 2025-26 NBA season?
