As a gamer with a penchant for the supernatural, I eagerly await the return of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. Having dabbled in the world of vampires through AMC’s Interview with the Vampire, I’m ready to delve deeper into this captivating universe. The trailer promises a darker and more intense narrative, which I can’t resist.
Halloween marks the end of what’s often called “Witching Season.” Given this spooky backdrop, it seems fitting that AMC would release the trailer for the second season of “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches“. The first season of the series, inspired by Anne Rice’s 1990 novel “The Witching Hour“, served as a loose adaptation. Judging from the new trailer, it looks like season two might be more closely tied to the second book in Rice’s “Lives of the Mayfair Witches” series, “Lasher“. Notably, this series shares a universe with AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire“. You can catch the latest trailer for “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches” season two right here:
Here’s the official description from AMC Networks for season two of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches:
In the second season of “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches,” we follow Rowan Mayfair (Daddario) as she grapples with the birth of the demon Lasher (Huston), unaware at first. She seeks to comprehend his true nature – is he human or monster? – and utilizes him to fulfill her role as a healer. However, when a tragic event occurs, Rowan must set aside her personal goals and focus on defending her family instead.
The series stars Alexandra Daddario as Rowan Mayfair, the latest in a long line of powerful witches from New Orleans. The Mayfairs are a magical bloodline that dates back hundreds of years. Jack Huston plays the malevolent (yet sexy) spirit Lasher, who has been tormenting the Mayfairs for several generations. Also in the cast from the first season are Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels. New cast members for season two of the series include Ben Feldman, Ted Levine, and famous witch-survivor, Thora Birch. The new season of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches will debut on Sunday, January 5, on AMC+ and AMC.
