In time, Tanaka comes to realize that Ohta is a genuinely kind-hearted individual, making him an excellent candidate for marriage.

In my humble opinion as a film critic, Tanaka’s lethargy is so profound it appears to be an enigmatic philosophical stance on life, baffling his peers who seem to perceive it as a deliberate effort to embrace idleness with unparalleled zeal. On one of his particularly languid days, Ohta observes Tanaka’s torpor has reached such extreme levels that he loses his appetite, despite evident hunger, and inexplicably erupts in a sudden burst of energy amidst his growing lethargy.

With the aid of classmates Shimura and Kato, Ohta initially concludes that Tanaka is smitten. However, it turns out that Tanaka’s peculiar actions were just a lethargic response to a toothache, prompting Ohta to escort him to the dentist instead. Later, when Tanaka concocts a scheme to prevent cavities solely to skip dental visits, Ohta chooses to endorse Tanaka’s lackadaisical lifestyle entirely.

When she crosses paths with Yato again and discovers his divine status, she requests his aid in restoring her to normalcy. However, Yato finds himself in a predicament as he has recently lost his shinki – another supernatural entity who supports and bolsters a god’s power.

In my humble opinion as a film critic, this deity you’re referring to is relatively obscure and not as powerful as some others in the realm. A supernatural encounter with an Ayakashi forces our divine protagonist, Yato, to enlist a boy’s spirit as his Shinki, whom he names Yukine. Interestingly, this spectral ally proves to be quite effective in combat, yet is troubled by his untimely demise, leading him to act rashly and without much stability.

At first, poor Yato is unable to assist Hiyori in her time of need. Desperate for help, he eventually seeks aid from Tenjin, the deity of education. Here’s a twist: It turns out that Mayu, his former weapon, now serves under Tenjin.

Yato’s companion, Kofuku – the goddess of poverty, along with her attendant Daikoku, are unable to aid them. The strife between Yato and his companion Yukine, who feels unappreciated and misses his human life, intensifies. Eventually, Yukine resorts to stealing, as he’s deceased and no one living can see or react to him, he doesn’t worry about the consequences or the harm caused. However, each sin that Yukine commits affects Yato more and more, exposing him to decay. Yet, Yato refuses to discipline Yukine.

In this captivating new realm, if given a chance to select a divine artifact or extraordinary power, I, much like Kazuma, would have preferred something more useful.
