Animated Anthology Series SECRET LEVEL Receives a Season 2 Renewal

As a longtime gamer and avid Amazon Prime Video subscriber, I can hardly contain my excitement about the renewal of “Secret Level” for a second season! Growing up with the iconic video game franchises that this series brings to life, it’s like a dream come true to see them reimagined in this unique and captivating way.

It’s been announced that one of Prime Video’s most successful animated shows, “Secret Level”, has received an early renewal for a second season. As reported by Variety, the show garnered record-breaking viewership for an animated series on Prime Video with its debut episode. In its first week alone, viewers watched a total of 155.3 million minutes of “Secret Level”. For those unfamiliar, this series is an adult-themed anthology of short stories set in the world of popular video games such as “Pac-Man”, “Warhammer”, “Mega Man”, and “Dungeons & Dragons”. So far, ten episodes from season one have been released, with seven more scheduled to follow soon.

A star-studded lineup of well-known actors lent their voices to the debut season of “Secret Level“. Included in this impressive cast are Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, Keanu Reeves, Temuera Morrison, Ariana Greenblatt, Heaven Hart, Emily Swallow, Gabriel Luna and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Fans may also recognize other talented actors from the cast such as Ricky Whittle, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Merle Dandridge, Claudia Doumit, Clive Standen, Laura Bailey, and Michael Beach. It’s possible that some of these voice actors might rejoin for a second season, though likely in different roles.

In season two, it remains unclear which popular video game franchises will receive the “Secret Level” adaptation. The success of the first season has likely eased some concerns among game companies regarding licensing their intellectual property to the show. However, since producing animation for a series can take a considerable amount of time, it might be quite a while before season two of “Secret Level” becomes available on Amazon Prime. Remember how long we had to wait between the first two seasons of “Invincible” on the same streaming service? We may have to exercise patience and keep our fingers crossed for a shorter wait this time around.
