Angelina Jolie Wishes Privacy for Her Kids, Reflects On Spotlight Thrust Upon Them At Young Age: ‘I Hope They Can Have That as They Get Older’

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I find Angelina Jolie‘s unwavering devotion to her family, particularly as a mother, truly inspiring. In an industry where stardom and success are often prioritized above all else, it is refreshing to see someone like Jolie who values the love she shares with her children over all else.

Angelina Jolie always finds joy in her role as a mom, even amidst her upcoming portrayal of the renowned opera singer Maria Callas. In a recent chat with Good Morning America, she drew parallels between Callas’s fervor for singing and her own devotion to mothering her six children.

In the GMA interview, host Michael Strahan inquired of the Maleficent actress if there’s anything in her life that matches Maria’s passion for singing. Quick to respond, Jolie expressed that it would be “motherhood.” For her, being a mother brings her joy, she declared. “Even if I were to lose everything else, nothing else holds significance,” she added.

Jolie has five sons – Maddox (age 23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18) and the 16-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne – whom she co-parents with her former spouse, Brad Pitt.

In an interview, she shared that her eldest two sons have been assisting her offstage in the project named Maria, which she described as incredible. Moreover, she’s currently partnered with Vivienne for The Outsiders on Broadway. However, none of her children have shown interest in venturing into a showbiz path requiring screen presence, she disclosed, possibly due to their early exposure to the limelight because of their parents’ high-profile relationship in the entertainment industry.

In my own words, I’d express it as follows: “I value their privacy immensely, and among my children, Shiloh stands out as our most reserved family member.” (This way, the statement is in first person, maintaining a conversational tone while emphasizing the importance of privacy.)

Jolie hoped that her children would experience greater privacy as they grew up, since they didn’t inherently have it from birth.

Over the weekend, I had the honor of attending the 2024 Governors Awards with my youngest son, marking his long-awaited return to the red carpet after a three-year hiatus. Accompanying me as my date, Knox was not just there for the glitz and glamour; he expressed an eagerness to support his mom at work, which filled me with immense pride.

Despite enjoying themselves at the event, it appears that Brad Pitt wasn’t particularly pleased with his public appearance with Angelina Jolie. According to Page Six, this might be because he felt she was attempting to make a statement in response to a recent court ruling, which determined that their French winery, Château Miraval, will go to trial just a few days later.

Since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, Pitt has been separated from his children. After their acrimonious breakup, all of their kids have chosen to align with their mother, and some adult offspring of the couple have even opted to remove Pitt’s surname from their names.
