Andrew Garfield Reveals He Used ‘Personal Love’ Experience To Get Into Skin Of Character For We Live In Time

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for cinematic masterpieces, I must say that the upcoming film “We Live in Time” is shaping up to be something truly special. The personal touch that director John Crowley and the cast, particularly Andrew Garfield, have brought to this project is nothing short of commendable.

Although everyone is excited to watch Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh together in We Live in Time, the actor has shared that the film carries a deeply personal significance for him, drawing on shared past experiences that many of us can relate to.

At the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival following the world premiere of We Lvie in Time, the actor who starred in Silence commented on director John Crowley and explained that the film was essentially a compilation of moments “that individuals encounter in their lives – personal experiences, personal grief, personal affection.

He also referred to himself, along with the entire cast and crew of the movie, as “fortunate” because they were able to incorporate their personal and private experiences into the plotline. The actor from Under the Silver Lake then added that this process has been therapeutic for the actors and the team behind We Live In Time, and he hopes it will have a similar healing effect on the audience.

In relation to the filming process, Garfield commented that the narrative had a solid base. As far as preparing for its specific aspects, he felt it was similar to what Florence had earlier referred to.

The storyline of the movie is similar to one in which the actors are unaware of their subsequent actions.

Talking during the post-screening conversation on September 6, 2024, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor shed light on his experience of working with Florence Pugh.

He mentioned that collaborating with the actress from Fighting With My Family was a unique opportunity, as he found himself naturally attuned to Pugh’s acting, both focusing on her performance and listening to her at the same time. This dynamic made their scenes feel particularly genuine and authentic.

Coming to himself, The Social Network star stated that the whole experience has been of surrender and letting go.

In the film titled “We Live in Time,” it features Florence Pugh portraying the character Tobias and Andrew Garfield as Almut.

They unexpectedly become a loving couple after meeting, but their story goes beyond this. Through various hardships, they remain steadfast partners, standing by each other’s side and supporting one another. Eventually, they start a family together.

In 2021, Andrew Garfield’s last major film appearance was in the blockbuster Marvel Studios production, Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he teamed up with Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland, each reprising their iconic Spider-Man roles from their individual projects. Since then, this new movie will be his first feature film.

Just as Garfield took on the part of the late composer Jonathan Larson in Tick, Tick… Boom!, so did he do so in this instance.

We Live in Time will hit the screens on October 11, 2024.
