According to the recent Nielsen ratings for streaming services, HBO’s “The Last of Us” has experienced a significant drop in audience numbers. On the other hand, Disney’s “Andor” is steadily gaining popularity and rising higher.
Star Wars made a comeback on the Nielsen charts with Andor’s three-episode premiere of Season 2. This debut surpassed the viewership of the Season 1 premiere, and the most recent figures show an even greater success.
Regarding “The Last of Us”, it appears my suspicions were correct. Could it be that viewers stopped tuning in after the major spoiler incident in Episode 2? Recent data from HBO indicates a steep drop in viewership for the season finale, over 50%. And with Nielsen’s full week ratings for Episode 3 now available, it seems this decline is evident.
What are the Andor ratings?
Last week, as I eagerly tuned in to catch episodes four, five, and six of my favorite show, I was thrilled to discover that we, the viewers, had collectively clocked an impressive 821 million minutes of viewing time! This put us in third place on the “Originals” chart, and even better, we managed to break into the overall Top 10 at the promising position of #6. What a week for our show!
That’s up from the 721 million minutes from the previous week’s three-episode premiere.
Season 1 proved to be excellent, and its success seems to have persisted into Season 2. It’s clear that the audience is strongly conveying their appreciation. Now the question is, will Disney fully comprehend this ongoing positive response?
Ahsoka Tano’s second season is being produced. Meanwhile, Jon Favreau will release The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22, 2026. Additionally, Shawn Levy is working on Star Wars: Starfighter, starring Ryan Gosling, set to premiere on May 28, 2027.
What are The Last Of Us ratings?
As Andor gains momentum, on the other hand, viewership numbers for HBO’s The Last Of Us Season 2’s third episode have dropped compared to the preceding week, according to Nielsen ratings for the full week.
The viewing time dropped from approximately 1,561 hours (or 937 million minutes) to around 1,381 hours (or 827 million minutes). I anticipate a continued decline in ratings with future episodes.
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’ve been following the buzz surrounding HBO’s latest updates, and it seems that the viewership for The Last of Us Season 2 has taken a significant dip, with official figures indicating a loss of more than half its initial audience.
As an enthusiastic viewer, I was quite thrilled for the start of Season 2, with a whopping 5.3 million tuning in. However, my excitement waned as the season came to a close, with only 3.7 million viewers joining me for the finale – that’s a significant drop of 30% compared to the Season 2 premiere and an even more staggering 55% decrease compared to the captivating Season 1 finale which attracted 8.2 million viewers.
As a movie fanatic, I couldn’t help but notice that the viewership numbers for our beloved series took a slight dip as we moved from the season premiere with 938,000 viewers, all the way to the finale with just 680,000 viewers.
