Ana Gasteyer Recalls Will Ferrell Messing with Diddy on SNL Sets; ‘It Is the Greatest Thing That’s Ever Happened’

As a dedicated follower of comedy and entertainment, I find the story of Ana Gasteyer recounting her prank-filled days at Saturday Night Live to be nothing short of hilarious. The anecdote involving Will Ferrell impersonating a crew member to disrupt Sean “Diddy” Combs’ rehearsal is a testament to the camaraderie and humor that thrived behind the scenes during those golden years.

A recent amusing story has emerged from Ana Gasteyer that even includes Will Ferrell, amidst the daily buzz surrounding the controversial incidents involving the now-disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

In 1998, it was then that the event under discussion took place, as the actor famous for his role in Anchorman chose to pull a practical joke on the Bump, Bump, Bump rapper.

On the Las Culturistas podcast, the actress from Curb Your Enthusiasm reminisced about the occasion when Sean “Diddy” Combs made his debut on Saturday Night Live for the very first time.

It is said that the rapper closed the entire building to practice for his performance on the renowned program.

As per Ana Gasteyer’s statement, it was planned for the It’s All About the Benjamins rapper to perform his song titled “Come with Me.

If you’re not already familiar, this particular track made an appearance in the 1998 Godzilla film, and it incorporated a piece of the iconic Led Zeppelin tune, Kashmir, with the talented Jimmy Page handling the guitar parts.

Meanwhile, it was during this period that Will Ferrell chose to gatecrash Sean “Diddy” Combs’ rehearsals, as part of a humorous practical joke.

Actor from Step Brothers, in disguise as an ex-SNL team member called Ron, deliberately breached the specific rules set by the artist behind “I Need a Girl,” all in the spirit of amusement.

“He did! He went down the stairs and marched right in,” the Woman on Top actress recalled.

As a diehard fan, I can’t help but share this fascinating tidbit: Ana Gasteyer revealed she possesses a video clip from the control room, capturing Sean “Diddy” Combs rehearsing with that iconic beat playing in the backdrop. His performance echoed, “Da-na-na, da-na-na, da-na-na, da-na-na.” Amidst it all, Ron was strutting around, embodying his character to perfection, looking rather bewildered and out of sorts.

In her remarks, the actress from “That’s My Boy” expressed her delight that Will Ferrell teamed up with P. Diddy for that joke, as he has been drawing significant controversy lately.

According to Gasteyer, it was an extraordinary event, as no one more deserving could have had their special ‘Kashmir’ experience disrupted by Ron. (This version aims to maintain the essence of the original sentence but uses simpler and more conversational language.)

In that instance, she mentioned that Sean Diddy Combs felt quite uneasy about the practical joke.

Sean Diddy Combs is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
