The movie studio, Lionsgate Films, has released the last preview for the film titled “From John Wick’s Universe: Ballerina“, featuring actress Ana de Armas in the lead role. Notably, Keanu Reeves will once again take on his iconic character as the skilled assassin.
New movie theater posters have also been released. Tickets are now on sale.
What is From the World of John Wick: Ballerina about?
In the context of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the story unfolds around Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas), as she embarks on her journey to learn the art of assassination within the Ruska Roma’s traditional practices.
Ana De Armas also recently participated in a Reddit AMA and was asked about her training.
My training regimen was extremely challenging, but incredibly rewarding. I followed a stringent diet low in calories, which was quite tough. The workout schedule was relentless – strength training for 90 minutes, followed by stunt practice at 8711 for 4-5 hours. After that, I’d head to the shooting range for another hour or two honing my skills with firearms. To top it off, I’d come home and exercise on a treadmill while wearing a weighted vest. It was grueling, but I enjoyed every moment of it. I felt great throughout the process.
She also talked about a sword scene.
I dabbled in some sword practice, as there was a lot to conquer. We prepped for the sword sequence as thoroughly as possible. Yet, I adored it! It was quite challenging. Most of my time was dedicated to gun knowledge and marksmanship. I spent countless hours at the firing range, perfecting my skills. I became rather proficient at it. I never knew I could shoot so skillfully. The experience of training in that setting was enjoyable. Training itself was entertaining.
She as also asked about fight choreography.
Creating action movies is quite challenging due to the intricate coordination required not only with actors but also with the entire film crew. The choreography in these films extends beyond mere combat; it encompasses every aspect, including camera work, lighting, special effects, and more. Each element must function flawlessly for the shot to succeed, and this demands a significant effort from everyone involved. In particular, the action sequences in the movie ‘Ballerina’ are particularly lengthy and uncut, requiring an immense amount of energy from all participants.
Who stars?
In addition to Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves, the cast also features Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, as well as Ian McShane.
Behind the movie
In this movie, Shay Hatten is the screenwriter, while Len Wiseman takes charge as the director. The producers for Ballerina are Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, who have previously worked on the John Wick films. Additionally, Chad Stahelski, also a director, handled the second-unit action scenes filming.
