Amplitude Studios is mainly recognized for creating turn-based strategy games, many of which are set within unique fantasy and sci-fi worlds they’ve developed, such as the upcoming game Endless Legend 2. Excitingly, the Endless universe has now been announced to be adapted into an animated series by Passion Pictures’ animation studio in Paris.
At present, the production of this series is being jointly handled by Passion Paris and Amplitude’s creative crew, who are working hand in hand. Notably, Passion Paris boasts a rich history of creating animated trailers for games such as League of Legends, Warframe, and Endling.
Caroline Audebert, executive producer at Passion Paris, expressed her enthusiasm in a press statement, “We can’t wait to dive into the vast universe of Endless! Amplitude has crafted a world filled with history, characters, and ambiance, and we’re collaborating closely with their team to establish a visual aesthetic and narrative style that reflects what fans cherish about the series while also inviting fresh tales and audiences.
As a dedicated fan, I couldn’t help but share the excitement of Romain de Waubert de Genlis, CEO and co-founder at Amplitude Studios. He expressed, “Endless, the universe we’ve been meticulously molding with heartfelt passion for years alongside our community, is now soaring to new heights thanks to this partnership with Passion Pictures. It’s a dream come true to witness our shared vision taking a quantum leap forward. We take immense pride in this collaboration and eagerly anticipate the thrilling journey that lies ahead as we bring this adventure to life in an innovative, fresh format.
From 2016 to 2024, the French video game studio was affiliated with SEGA, but in 2024, they acquired their independence from the Japanese corporation by buying themselves out. They’ve since attracted investment from new backers and have partnered with publisher Hooded Horse for the launch of Endless Legend 2, their upcoming turn-based strategy game. The collaboration with Passion Pictures to develop an animated series based on Amplitude’s original IP is a significant move aimed at broadening their income sources and reducing reliance on just game sales.
