Angelina Jolie is planning a major life shift as the new year starts, potentially moving her away from Los Angeles.
Angelina Jolie is selling her Los Angeles home after making some updates. According to PEOPLE magazine, the property is now being shown to potential buyers who are qualified, as Jolie plans to live outside of the United States.
“She’s ready for a life that isn’t centered in Los Angeles,” the source said.
According to a source close to her, Jolie is doing well and optimistic about the future. They said she’s enthusiastic about several upcoming projects and is particularly excited about the opportunities 2026 will bring, allowing her more freedom and flexibility.
People magazine first reported in August that the Academy Award-winning actress, recently known for her role in Maria, was considering selling her house and moving overseas. A source shared that Jolie hadn’t intended to make Los Angeles her permanent home.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt officially ended their divorce on December 30, 2024, after a lengthy eight-year legal process. They share six children together: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
According to one report, Angelina Jolie intends to move away once her sons, Knox and Vivienne, reach adulthood next year. The source stated that Jolie is considering several international locations and is eager to leave Los Angeles.
The twins will turn eighteen on July 12, 2026. Their mother, Jolie, has shared that her children value their privacy. She mentioned in an interview with Good Morning America in November 2024 that, “My children don’t want to be filmed right now; they’re all pretty private.”
Jolie also discussed her daughter Shiloh, noting that she’s a very private person. She explained that Shiloh, like her other children, didn’t have privacy growing up due to public attention, and she hopes they’ll be able to experience it as they get older.
