American Horror Story Icon Jessica Lange Responds to Rumors of a Comeback: ‘Oh Christ…’

Jessica Lange firmly rules out any chances of returning to the cast of American Horror Story (AHS), a series she joined back in 2011.

As a die-hard admirer, I’ve been eagerly awaiting any news about my favorite Oscar-winning actress potentially returning to American Horror Story for its 13th season. However, when the question was posed, she swiftly shut down all speculation and dashed my hopes, giving a clear-cut response that left no room for doubt or anticipation.

Over a ten-year period, Constance Langdon’s prominent role hasn’t been reprised by Jessica Lange; she expressed that she doesn’t plan on returning to it.

During the debut of Long Day’s Journey Into Night at the Glasgow Film Festival, Lange expressed to an Irish radio station, “Ah, no thank you. It’s been over a decade since I last took on that role, around 12 years ago. No, I’m not planning to do it again.

There has been talk that Season 13 might be the final season, but when Lange heard this during an interview, it didn’t rattle him.

The journalist inquired about the possibility of her returning, to which the Academy Award winner gave a clear and unambiguous response.

Lange replied in a heartbeat, “No.”

In 2018, Jessica Lange returned to her character, Constance Langdon, in two episodes of Season 8. Previously, she portrayed Sister Jude Martin in Season 2, Fiona Goode in Season 3, and Elsa Mars in Season 4 of the show.

I’m proud to say that I played a significant role in the American Horror Story series, earning me not just two Emmy Awards but also three additional nominations.
