AMC Theatres is adding a new benefit for its loyal customers! People who subscribe to AMC A-List (which already lets you see up to four movies a week for $28 a month) or Stubs Premiere will get first dibs on the best seats in the theater. According to Variety, this perk is planned to roll out in 2026, though the exact launch date hasn’t been announced yet. AMC Chairman Adam Aron recently shared details about the program during a call with investors.
Later this year, AMC will offer its most loyal moviegoers – A-List and Stubs Premiere members – exclusive access to the best seats in each theater at no extra cost. These premium seats will be reserved specifically for our VIP customers, giving them first access when they purchase tickets.
If you’re just a regular moviegoer without a premium membership like A-List or Premiere Stubs, you won’t have first access to the best seats. This feels like a tactic to encourage more people to sign up for the A-List program. It’s unclear how long these seats are held before being offered to everyone else – is it a week, a couple of days, or something else? We simply don’t know.
This situation appears to have several potential issues. Last year, AMC increased the monthly cost of its Stubs A-List membership to $27.99 in New York and California. Currently, the price ranges from $19.99 to $25.99 per month in other states. It remains to be seen how these changes will affect things later this year.
