The upcoming role for Amandla Stenberg, famously known for her work in ‘The Acolyte’, has been made public. At the age of 26, this talented actress will take on a lead role in the film adaptation of ‘Children of Blood and Bone’, a widely acclaimed young adult romantic fantasy novel with West African influences, written by Tomi Adeyemi. This project is under the direction of Gina Prince-Bythewood for Paramount Pictures.

Stenberg affirmed her role as Amari Olubori, a character hailing from the imaginary kingdom of Orïsha, who serves as the crown princess in the movie. According to Wikipedia, this character is described thusly:

In 2019, “Children of Blood and Bone” was generously given to me, and it’s safe to say it ranks among the best presents I’ve ever received. As soon as I started reading it, I became completely captivated – so much so that I even asked God to guide me in this incredible tale (I know, it sounds funny 😅🤣😂🤣😭)! Just before I went to Philly last year, I had a strange urge to leaf through old journals, and there was my prayer request: a bold plea to be the lead in this fantastic story 🙈. Sitting here now, drafting this announcement, is quite surreal. To know that I’ll get to work alongside some truly remarkable individuals as we bring this captivating story to life is an incredibly humbling experience. I can hardly wait! I am beyond grateful.
