Already Very Muscular Dwayne Johnson Took ‘A Couple of Hours Every Day’ to Put on Bodysuit for Live-Action Moana

As a die-hard fan of Disney and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, I am beyond thrilled about the upcoming live-action Moana! Ever since he voiced Maui in the 2016 animated masterpiece, I’ve been eagerly awaiting this transformation on the big screen.

Enthusiasts of Disney princesses were taken aback when they initially watched Moana, released in 2016. Now, these fans can hardly wait for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the film, starring Dwayne Johnson as the demigod Maui.

If you’re unfamiliar, the actor from Fighting with My Family lent his voice to the towering deity character in the animated adaptation of the film.

Just now, in an open conversation with Extra, Dwayne Johnson admitted that he’ll be sporting a bodysuit for the live-action version of the project, helmed by Thomas Kail.

“That’s a suit that took a long time to put on,” the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor stated.

During the very same interview, he found it quite funny when the host inquired whether he had gained additional muscle for the part he was playing.

“When you say, ‘You bulked up,’ that means you couldn’t tell,” the Red Notice actor responded.

Initial images from the movie set left people spellbound, sparking discussions on social media about whether Dwayne Johnson was clad in a body suit.

In his already impressive physical form, the actor confessed to donning a bodysuit that further accentuated his muscular appearance. Remarkably, this very suit was intricately designed with the tattoos characteristic of the animated character Maui from Moana.

During our conversation, the Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw actor explained that it required “several hours daily to transform and don the bodysuit.

After that, he explained how vigilant the entire team was in keeping secret any information regarding the live-action movie. However, as Johnson mentioned, during the shooting period, paparazzi managed to take some pictures by sneaking into boats, despite the fact that the film crew had walls surrounding them.

In the newly-released movie Moana 2, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson lent his voice. This film had the largest opening on Thanksgiving weekend, setting a new record.

In the upcoming live-action film, it will be Catherine Laga’aia, a fresh talent, lending her vocal prowess to the main character, who we previously saw in the animated version.
