Almost a year and a half since launch, Stellar Blade adds new epilogue content that has fans begging for a chapter select option “so we don’t have to play through the whole game again… please”

Nearly eighteen months after it first came out, Stellar Blade has received a free update. This new content adds an epilogue to Shift Up’s action game, for those who were hoping for more after finishing the main story.

This update is now live on both PS5 and PC and includes a handful of small improvements. Besides fixing some bugs for players on Steam, it also lets you save Photo Mode screenshots to a dedicated ‘Screenshots’ folder within the game’s files. The biggest additions are the three new epilogues.

The patch notes open with a mysterious statement: “After one ending comes another beginning.” They go on to explain that players can explore three epilogues, which show what happens to EVE and the inhabitants of Xion after achieving a particular ending.

Just so you’re aware, Stellar Blade has three possible endings. The recent patch notes don’t reveal which ending the epilogues connect to, but players on Reddit believe they’ve determined the answer. I won’t give away any spoilers if you haven’t completed the story yet, but there are ongoing discussions if you’d like to learn more.

Look, I’m always happy to see new content drop, but honestly, it’s a bit annoying when getting to it feels like a chore if you’re a long-time player. I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying the same thing – we really just want a chapter select! One player put it perfectly: “Just… give us a chapter select so we don’t have to play through the whole game again… please.” Another one chimed in, and I totally relate, saying: “I know, like I’ve already played through 10 times I think, no joke. Every time they release new DLC I just so happen to be beyond the no return point.” It’s frustrating to replay everything just to experience the new stuff, you know?

Some players might want to experience the game again from the beginning to check out these new features. It’s a nice way to pass the time until the sequel to Stellar Blade, which Shift Up has hinted will feature a larger world and improved gameplay.
