Allison Holker Faces Backlash for Revealing Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’s Personal Struggles in New Memoir

Allison Holker, widow of the late Stephen ‘tWitch‘ Boss, has disclosed personal battles faced by her spouse before the publication of her upcoming memoir titled “This Far.

In a conversation with People, Holker shared that she uncovered Boss’s struggle with inner turmoil, which reportedly encompassed issues such as substance abuse and traumatic experiences from his childhood.

Weeks following his demise, drugs concealed among his possessions were discovered, leading her to delve into his personal diaries. These journals unveiled his efforts to alleviate his suffering through self-medication. As she spoke, Holker disclosed that he wished to spare others the burden of his pain.

Courtney Platt, a good friend of Stephen Boss, publicly expressed disapproval towards Holker for incorporating personal details in her book, which she found to be inappropriate and opportunistic. In a post on Instagram, Platt described the move as ‘tacky’ and accused Holker of having attendees at Boss’s funeral sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).

She doubted Allison Holker’s motives, stating on social media, “Is this how you honor his legacy? Is this what you want them to remember?” Similarly, Platt alleged that Holker had sullied Boss’s reputation and leaked confidential information for personal profit. This allegation was seconded by Dré Rose, Boss’s brother, who reposted Platt’s comment and endorsed the claims about the Non-Disclosure Agreement.

People using social media voiced their disapproval of Holker’s choice as well. One user described it as “inappropriate,” while another questioned, “Why is this acceptable?” Critics contended that Boss’s personal struggles should have been kept confidential. Some even labeled Holker’s actions as “shameful.

In response to criticism, Holker clarified that her aim was to encourage others to seek assistance, explaining that she simply wanted to make people comfortable enough to ask for help and support.

In addition to sharing positive comments from followers, Holker was referred to as “brave” by one of them. Regardless of the criticism she faced, Holker stands firm in her mission to foster discussions around mental health, advocating for open dialogues.
