It’s always tough to see favorites go, and several titles are leaving Netflix in the coming weeks. If you’ve been meaning to watch any of these, now is the time to catch up on a few episodes or start a new series. Below, you’ll find brief summaries – what each show or movie is about, the cast, and the creators – along with the specific date it will no longer be available.
As a movie fan, I find this schedule really helpful! It’s laid out by when each film leaves the theaters, covering everything from Tuesday, September 30th to Wednesday, October 29th. I especially appreciate that the dates are right there with each movie listing – it makes it so easy to plan a last-minute viewing without having to search all over the place. It’s a great way to make sure I don’t miss out on anything I want to see before it’s gone!
‘Chappelle’s Show’ (2003–2006)
Created by Dave Chappelle and Neal Brennan, this groundbreaking sketch-comedy show combines funny characters, music, and sharp commentary on society. Dave Chappelle hosts and stars in the series, and you’ll often see Donnell Rawlings and Charlie Murphy too. Originally aired on Comedy Central, it became famous for sketches that everyone talked about. It will no longer be available on Netflix after Tuesday, September 30.
Throughout the series, different directors helmed each episode. Dave Chappelle and Bill Brennan acted as executive producers and the main writers, defining the show’s unique style. The show also included musical performances and short films, and Comedy Central managed its production and broadcast.
‘Rubble & Crew’ (2023– )
This animated series is a prequel to ‘PAW Patrol’, focusing on Rubble and his family, who are all experts in construction. They work together to fix things and help out around Builder Cove. Spin Master Entertainment and Nickelodeon created the show, and each episode has simple, positive stories about working as a team, using tools, and playing with vehicles. It will no longer be available on Netflix after Wednesday, October 1.
Professional voice actors give personality to the bulldog builder and his team in brief, individual episodes designed for young children. The creators of this series expand on the familiar world of PAW Patrol, crafting stories that emphasize important social and emotional lessons while also introducing basic ideas about building and construction.
‘White Collar’ (2009–2014)
The USA Network series, a crime drama created by Jeff Eastin, centers around Neal Caffrey, a con artist portrayed by Matt Bomer. He works with FBI agent Peter Burke, played by Tim DeKay, to solve complex financial crimes. Throughout the show’s run, the cast also features Willie Garson, Tiffani Thiessen, and Marsha Thomason. The series will no longer be available on Netflix after Wednesday, October 1.
Created as a visually appealing crime show with continuing storylines, the series’ writers skillfully combine self-contained mysteries each week with larger, season-long plots revolving around art theft, fakes, and questions of loyalty. Numerous experienced television directors helmed individual episodes, while Eastin guided the overarching story and the evolution of the characters over the show’s six seasons.
‘Bonnie & Clyde’ (2013)
This two-part television miniseries tells the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the famous outlaws who lived during the Great Depression. Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger play Bonnie and Clyde, and the show also features actors portraying their friends and the police officers who were trying to catch them. It will no longer be available on Netflix after Wednesday, October 1.
Directed by Bruce Beresford and based on a story by John Rice and Joe Batteer, the show tells the story of the couple’s criminal journey, starting in small-town Texas and eventually gaining national attention. The miniseries combines accurate historical details with a look at the relationship between the two criminals, showing bank robberies, high-speed chases, and the efforts to find them – all based on real events.
‘Dragnet’ (1967–1970)
This show is a reboot of the classic ‘Dragnet’ and follows LAPD Sergeant Joe Friday, portrayed by Jack Webb, and Officer Bill Gannon, played by Harry Morgan. Each episode focuses on a new case investigated by the police, presented in a realistic and straightforward manner that highlights the details of the police procedure. It will no longer be available on Netflix after Wednesday, October 1.
Created by Jack Webb and produced by Mark VII Limited, the series felt realistic thanks to its semi-documentary style. Webb frequently both directed and narrated the episodes. The storylines were based on real case files and publicly available information, and each installment famously concluded by updating viewers on the fates of the people featured.
‘Oktoberfest: Beer and Blood’ (2020)
Also called ‘Oktoberfest 1900’, this German drama takes place in Munich around 1900. It centers on Curt Prank, a determined brewer who is trying to control the famous festival. Mišel Matičević stars in the show, and the story also follows characters from competing brewing families and important figures in the city’s government. It will be removed from Netflix on Thursday, October 2.
As a movie buff, I gotta say, this series, directed by Hannu Salonen, is really interesting. It was created and written by a team – Ronny Schalk and Alexis Wittgenstein were involved, among others. What I love is how it mixes real history with a totally fictional story – think land grabs, complicated family relationships, and even sabotage! And the whole thing is driven by the early days of the beer industry, which is used as a backdrop for all these power plays. It’s a clever setup, really – the burgeoning beer industry is basically the engine for all the conflict. It’s a really unique blend.
‘Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber’ (2022)
As a total cinema fan, I’ve been following Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, the first season of this anthology drama from Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Beth Schacter. It’s a really gripping look at how Uber exploded onto the scene and the story of its CEO, Travis Kalanick, played brilliantly by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. You also have Kyle Chandler as the venture capitalist Bill Gurley and Uma Thurman as Arianna Huffington. Just a heads-up for anyone wanting to watch, it’s leaving Netflix on Monday, October 6!
Inspired by Mike Isaac’s nonfiction book, the series follows the intense conflicts within the company’s leadership, its incredibly rapid expansion, and the lasting impact the app had on society. Several directors worked on the episodes, which feature a unique storytelling approach and actors playing the roles of the engineers, leaders, and investors who guided the company’s development.
‘To the Lake’ (2019– )
This Russian thriller presents a scenario where a fatal epidemic breaks out in Moscow and spreads, compelling a divided group of people to escape to a secluded lake for safety. The film features performances by Kirill Käro, Maryana Spivak, and Viktoriya Isakova, who play members of the larger group as they struggle to survive and grapple with changing allegiances. It will no longer be available on Netflix after Tuesday, October 7.
Based on Yana Vagner’s novel ‘Vongozero’, the series was directed by Pavel Kostomarov and others. Filming took place on location, highlighting the cold, winter scenery and a sense of loneliness. The story skillfully combines thrilling survival situations with emotional relationship conflicts, examining difficult ethical decisions people face when pushed to their limits.
‘Shamwari Untamed’ (2018)
As a huge wildlife fan, I’ve been really enjoying this docuseries! It’s filmed at the beautiful Shamwari Private Game Reserve in South Africa, and it follows the incredible work of the conservation teams there. Each episode shows them rescuing, rehabilitating, and moving animals around – it’s fascinating to see the veterinary care they provide and how they fight against poaching. It really gives you a sense of the day-to-day running of a large reserve. Just a heads-up though, it’s leaving Netflix on Tuesday, October 7th, so make sure you catch it while you can!
Filmed directly in the field alongside wildlife experts, this series shares up-to-the-minute stories about animals like rhinos, elephants, and big cats. The crew documents things like how animals are moved by airplane, kept in bomas (enclosures), and safely tranquilized with darts, and explains the reasons behind these methods – all to minimize stress and increase their chances of survival. Learn more about the conservation efforts.
‘Click Click Bang’ (2023)
This Kenyan crime drama tells the story of a dangerous hitman in Nairobi and what led him to a life of crime. The series shows his beginnings, how he learned the criminal world, and the impact of violence on those around him – his family and community. It will no longer be available on Netflix after Tuesday, October 7.
Filmed in East Africa and featuring a local cast, the show combines crime investigations with the power struggles of gangs, showcasing action-packed shootouts and betrayals in real Nairobi settings. The story focuses not only on what happens, but also on the social and economic forces influencing the main character’s decisions, and it’s told through a mix of flashbacks and different timelines that come together.
‘Abandoned’ (2012)
I’m a huge fan of shows about hidden history, and ‘Abandoned’ is right up my alley! It’s a really fascinating series that looks at places that have been left to decay – old buildings, closed-down factories, and just generally forgotten spaces. Each episode isn’t just about seeing these locations; it dives into why they were abandoned in the first place, using old photos and records to tell their stories. Just a heads-up though – it’s leaving Netflix on Wednesday, October 15th, so you’ll want to check it out before it’s gone!
The production treats each site like a detailed example-examining its funding sources, output, and the economic or political changes that caused it to shut down. The film crews record any dangers present, leftover machinery, and recollections from local people, offering a combination of city history and the study of old industrial sites.
‘Some Assembly Required’ (2014–2016)
This Canadian sitcom, filmed with real actors, centers around teenager Jarvis Raines. He unexpectedly becomes the head of Knickknack Toys and brings his friends from school on board to create and sell new toys. The show features Kolton Stewart, Charlie Storwick, Harrison Houde, Sydney Scotia, and a supporting cast of other actors. It will no longer be available on Netflix after Wednesday, October 15.
The series, created by Dan Signer and Howard Nemetz, is known for its stories centered around gadgets, jokes that happen repeatedly in the workplace, and new inventions featured in each episode – all of which drive the humor. Made for YTV using a multi-camera setup, it relies on physical comedy, creating props, and using music in a way that’s common for comedies aimed at younger audiences. It’s a classic formula for getting laughs.
‘Mythomaniac’ (2019–2021)
Called ‘Mytho’ in French, this funny and moving story follows Elvira, a mother living in the suburbs who feels overlooked. She falsely claims to have cancer, which creates problems for her relationships with her husband, kids, and friends. Marina Hands plays Elvira, and Mathieu Demy is part of the cast, depicting a family struggling with difficult issues. It will no longer be available on Netflix after Wednesday, October 29.
Created by Anne Berest and Fabrice Gobert, the series skillfully combines personal, everyday moments with the increasingly complex planning needed to keep a secret. The direction throughout the series highlights how perspectives change among the characters, and the writing delves into themes of focus, who we are, and the moral consequences of dishonesty.
